I am an FFL and frequently need to test fire guns that come into my shop. Currently I can run down to a local indoor range to shoot any handguns that come in, but that requires leaving the shop short handed or going after hours.
I would like to construct something that would allow me to test for operation only on rifles and handguns. I don't need to check zero or the sights. Just blast a few rounds. Any suggestions from the great minds of ARFCOM? |

This is what I was thinking of ^. Popping off rounds in a homemade backstop sounds like it could be an issue to me.All it takes is one errant round.................... |

What is the energy of a 5.56 55 gr bullet? Do I need to go for the 3000 FPE or would the cheaper 1400 FPE work for occasional use? I realize I can look up the energy numbers, but someone reading this knows the answer and can respond before I can compose the question in google... |
