Saw em on the Perfect Strangers tour in Shitcago with the original lineup.

Damaged my hearing, for real.  12th row floor center.  We had 2nd level seats, but the sound crew apparently put up more speaker stacks, blocking the view, so our little section got new tix on the floor.

It was a religious experience.

Ritchie Blackmore was an under rated guitarist.

I agree, but the biggest mistake he made was forcing Gillian and Glover out of the band.

Richie Blackmore is one of the top 10 best guitarists of all time. Anyone seen the video of Deep Purple with the London Phil Harmonic?

I'll join the crowd saying that it's my opinion that Ian Gillan is/was one of the great rock voices at all time. His range and power are just incredible. He can definitely bring tons of emotion e.g., Superstar.

I've seen them many times since the mid-seventies. Last time was a year or so ago. Steve Morse was playing with them when I saw them. Edgar Winter opened. Great show.
