| Is it ethical to put a human silhouette at the 200 or 300 yard rifle range or are they just for the pistol range? |
| Do it. I was always told our targets in the Corps we used for qualification were representations of people. The Dog target which we shot at 200 and 300 yards was a person in the prone, the B target which we shot at the 500 was a person in the kneeling position.....I don't know for sure but if you ask me it looked like a rather oversized person..... |

The purpose of my rifle is to kill people, animals, aliens, or zombies should the need ever arise. Train like you will fight. If I ever need that rifle for its intended purpose, the most likely targets will be people... Thus the training target I use most should emulate people. TR85. |

I find myself utterly untroubled by the content and premise of this post, and concur in a hearty manner. |

Let's be honest, the kind of weapons that we own are for killin' folks. Don't let anyone try and tell you otherwise. You also shouldn't let anyone tell you that it's wrong. Sometimes killin' is right and that is a fact. There are sometimes situations where folks need to kill other folks at distances of a few hundred yards. If you don't practice it then you're not going to be any good at it when the time comes. If some son of a bitch needs to get his ticket punched, then I am not going to let the fact that he's a couple hundred yards away deter me. I also don't let the prospect of dirty looks from The Fudds deter me from training. |

The other range I frequent has a range master who is too old to notice but he would certainly have a fit. As for "it's just paper", surely you know better. Again, I agree with being prepared and ready to do what is necessary when the time comes. |

Is it ethical to put a human silhouette at the 200 or 300 yard rifle range or are they just for the pistol range? Is this a real question? You can shoot what ever kind of paper target you want ethically..What next? is it ethical to shoot blue targets if you are from a Celtic heritage? |

I think the rule is stupid. My weapons are for defending myself and my family from human threats.
