Anyone use Chase bank for checking? They have that program in which you take pictures of checks and it automatically deposits them without going to the bank, that seems like a good idea. I miss having direct deposit, this would be pretty close |

I just checked Chase's website to sign up. The basic account requires a minimum daily amount of $1,500 (if you go under that you have to pay a fee) or a direct deposit of $500 per month. I don't have direct deposit. What is this bullshit? That read that some time ago and cancelled my account. |

I live in New Jersey, all the local credit unions hate gun rights too |

I don't have direct deposit. What is this bullshit? Congress passed new regulations last year. TANSTAAFL still applies even to your free accounts you've had all along. Thanks to the new legislation you'll see different ways that fees will be instituted in order for your account to be "free." |

Would that be the credit union near my office with the 30.06 sign? (Prohibits CCW holders from carrying in a business in TX) Chase has done right be me for 6 years now, including when someone got my cc info for an card I have with them...they froze the card and called ME when they detected unusual activity. |

I dumped Chase when they wanted to charge me $8 a month for a "free" checking account cause I wouldn't keep a balance in checking or use the debit card a million times a month. The only reason I had a Chase account in the first place was WAMU got bought by them.
Had already opened an account with USAA, so just closed the Chase account. All the account manager could talk about was having a bank close by. I have physically been in a bank about 4 times in the last 10 years, 3 of those times were to close accounts, the other was to get a cashiers check. A brick & mortar bank doesn't really provide much for me. USAA has a iphone app for depositing checks along with deposit at home, scan the check, upload the image. |

Quoted: Don't deal with mega banks. I'm leaving Chase. I was with WaMu when Chase took them over. Chase is adopting a new sliding checking account fee scale and adding more fees. Most of the fees are aimed squarely at the little guy. Never tried that style of deposit. I don't get enough paper checks to use it. I prefer to deposit in person. Murphy's law of banks says given the opportunity they'll screw up something like that and then charge you for their mistake. |
