We went to Monster Jam at the EJ Dome in St. Louis today, and enjoyed it as always.

Before the action starts, they have a Pit Party where you can go out on the track to see the trucks and meet the drivers. They also let people sign one of the cars that will be crushed. I wrote ar15.com on there.

Here's the trucks as they lined up for racing;

Lindsey Weenk won racing, driving Lucas Oil Crusader

After racing comes free style (the best part of the whole thing)

Grave Digger won Free Style

After it's over, the drivers autograph the programs, pennants etc.

Monster trucks may be as redneck as redneck gets, but those are some DAMN impressive machines when you see them in real life and feel the stadium shake when they hit the throttle.  Fun stuff.

Cool Photos!

Last year took the family to Tacoma Dome for Monster Jam.  Our sons (age 8 and 7) were coercised to make posters for Maximum Destruction and Grave Digger.

Out of the some 12,000 people there, only a handful of posters were seen.

Every time MD and GD drove by our area, the boys would raise up their poster and scream.

After freestyle and GD won it, the driver climbed off his truck and looked our direction.

Sure enough, the driver climbed up the bleachers to our location (some 200' away) and shook our hands.

A Kodak moment for sure!

Looks fun!  I have always wanted to take my kids to a MJ, but my son has asthma and severely sensitive ears with multiple ruptured eardrums and tubes twice and even the music at church hurts his ears, so I do not think the monster trucks would be good on the ears, nor the smoke good for the asthma.

I'll be going down there for the Supercross.

If you could find a local event at an outside venue, like the Thunder Nationals that Bigfoot competes in, you wouldn't have to worry about fumes. Lots of people wear the same ear protection as when shooting, so maybe with that and being outside your son could handle it.

On TV is cool, but you don't get the real effect of it without being there.
