I'm looking for a cat door for installation in a interior door. I have seen lots of clear doors for sale but I want one that is solid, preferably black or brown. Since there seems to be a correlation between gun owners and cats, I thought you all might have an answer |

I took our interior door off the hinges, cut the rectangular opening for the cats, trimmed it out, repainted, and rehung the door. No flap, no plastic, just a nice looking rectangular opening with trim around it. Cats love it, dogs hate it since now they can't get into the cat room and eat their food and go litter diving for cat shit to munch on.

Well, I like the ideas with cutting a hole out in the door; however this is my bedroom door and I prefer to have my privacy...you know, when the ladies come over EDIT: actually, now that I think about it, I'm gonna just get a clear one and put strips of black paper or something like that over it. Why didn't I think of that earlier LOL

I used one like this, http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3551827 . It is a pretty dark smoke color. But I imagine you could rough it up with sandpaper, then prime and paint it to match your door. |
