THe final scene with the water cooled 30 cal. was epic...especially since it didn't use up a full belt of ammo.



If you pay attention, when the last guy firing it gets killed, they show that there is 'only' about 2 feel of belt left, hanging out of the ammo can.



Nice touch, for Hollywood, since they are usually totally clueless about weapons.



One of the great all time Westerns, due in no small part to the truly EPIC cast of characters: all somewhat aging leading stars, in their own right. The age of the stars adds a lot to the film.



The salary budget must have been large, for it's day.

Sam Peckinpah was the master of slo-mo choreographed movie violence.

Great movie.
