However, Newsweek reports
that "in the next two weeks, the White House will unveil a new
gun-control effort,” and that the White House confirms, "Obama will
address the gun issue in a separate speech, likely early next month.”

If he wants ANY chance at re-election he wont touch this issue. I dont doubt that its on his second term agenda. That's one of many reasons why we HAVE to win in 2012.

ETA: Ive never read so much STOOPID as in that article.

Maybe he just wants to resume his role as a gun salesman.

Not going to happen.

I think this is BS.

Someone at the ILA needs a new Benz. "We need to whip the membership into a frenzy and get some money"

Gun owners are their own worst enemies.

It doesn't make sense to wait until a month afterward.  It's already out of most of the public's eyes.  This won't happen.

There is already a thread on this made well before the NRA-ILA sent this out.  So does that mean the OP of that thread needs a new Benz too?  Or are we just being a hater.....

He knows nothing will pass through the house.

I have a feeling he's going to try to use this to freighten the so called "moderate" voters.

Paint the republicans as exreme right wing gun nuts that refuse to pass "common sense" gun laws.

Will it work? Only time will tell.

I'm guessing that a lot of gun owners have been regularly buying guns, ammo and mags since 2004. They know what can happen when the ban comes.

Didnt he say he would rather be a good one term president than bad 2 term?
