[ARCHIVED THREAD] - The worst trigger pull ever (Page 1 of 3)

The Stechkin thread got me thinking about this. The worst trigger pull I ever experienced was on an HK VP70Z. The first one I handled was one of the oddballs in 9X21mm but the 9X19mm were just as bad. This thing was HEAVY and long. Like, how the fuck could you keep it on target? Good thing for the stock; at least you'd have a better chance.
What's the worst trigger pull you've experienced? |
|
The MA compliant Walther PPS trigger made me want to shake babies. Everything that could be bad about a pistol trigger pull was evident in it. It made a box stock Glock feel like the most finely tuned 1911.
Overall worst of anything I've had must go to the Grendel P10.It was a finger exerciser that would reward you with a BANG if the trigger broke before the bones of your index finger. |

I own a 9mm Kel Tec now, have owned several in the past, and the triggers are bad but you can get used to them. But the .357 Ruger SP101 revolver I had was just brutal. I kept telling myself it just needed more range time to begin to lighten some and smooth out, but damn that thing tore up my hands from trigger finger to the web of my hand. It always felt so good when I picked it up, right up until I began shooting it. |

Quoted: Double action AMT Backups were pretty nasty but a nagant probably takes the prize I was going to say the Backup as well. My wife's aunt has one that she keeps wanting me to work on. I hate that damn thing. I also do not like the H&K USP DA trigger on the .40 that I had. I am sure that the higher end models are fine, but that DA pull was TERRIBLE! |

S&W Sigma I was sure the fucking thing was broken but my buddy swore up and down that it came like that from the dealer
My forearm muscles were sore after one box of ammo, and I work with my hands for a living. The .40 Sigma I owned got worse and worse..then could no more go boom.
Sent to S&W for repair..came back working..but soon started the same shit. Nagant's have marvelous light triggers compared to a Sigma.

Double action AMT Backups were pretty nasty That .45 they came out with was an abomination. ETA: I remember handling one with a trigger job that got the pull down to 18lbs.
For duty guns, the first gen Ruger autos, and third gen Smiths were pretty fucking bad. First time I shot a 3rd gen Smith, I pulled so long on the trigger, I had to double check the safety. First time I handled a Ruger SA, the factory reps seemed pretty embarrassed by the craptacular nature of the trigger on their new hair dryer. |

Can't recall the particular model, but it was a Taurus semi auto in .45 Trigger had like an inch of take up where I felt like it wasn't connected to anything, then when it finally was ready to fire it felt like a bag of smashed assholes. Probably the same model I shot. Easily the worst. And that includes Nagant revolvers and the Nintendo Blaster. |

Quoted: Quoted: nagant revolver. Had to be over 20 lbs in double action. It is they bottom out my 20lb trigger pull gauge and still don't move I knew it was heavy... I mean I shoot a lot of DA revolvers and a 14lb trigger isn't really that bad. It's heavy, but still tolerable. The nagant actually strained the muscles in my forearm...hurt for a couple days. I thought the damn thing was broken, but then stuff started moving. I feel sorry for the guys that had to defend themselves with that thing. |

A cross between the Kel-Tec P11 (very long) or my Hi-Point carbine (spongy). A friend of a friend has one, I don't know if it's broken or what but it is the worst trigger pull I have ever seen. Way worse than even every shitty Chinese cap gun I had as a kid. It wasn't super heavy but between the odd arc the trigger travels, the poorly shaped and poorly molded trigger, and the wildly varying weight for every few thousands of an inch you pull it was horrible. |

Radom P-64 is the worst one I own. Even after replacing the springs, it's nasty. For clarification: Only the double-action pull is atrocious. Single action is quite nice after the respring. So I guess it's only half-horrible? Another vote for the P-64. Mine was impossible to pull in double action until I replaced the springs. |
