Yeah, Imbro may have been a troll but he was a good one. A high quality troll from way back, not one of these cheap cheezy modern ones we keep getting. Imbro could split the site and have us attacking each other. These new guys just piss everybody off and accomplish nothing.

IIRC, he and I exchanged a series of IMs or e-mails after a particular disagreement once (I don't recall the specifics at all, but the private communications were mutually respectful and resolved the issue, whatever it was) and, for whatever reason, we never had another problem on the site after that. We still disagreed at times, but never in a heated way. |

I had dinner with Norman74 once during a South Florida meet-and-eat with other ARFCOMers. Heck, he set it up. Seemed like a nice guy who simply had a bit of an edge. Years later he contacted me via IM as someone else was was very friendly. Disappeared after that.
I'd wondered what happened to him.... |

Has anyone ever put together a list of the well-known banned members? (trolls and otherwise)
Every so often I see a thread like this and catch a screename from long ago that I had completely forgotten. Lots of folks have come and go...would be neat to see a list of the perma-bans...be even cooler to have a link to the archived post that got the hammer to drop
