Seems like a decent option if you want to be able to shoot the .50 BMG every now and again without breaking the bank in terms of the gun itself and ammo. Seems to me to be a pretty good entry level option to shoot that round occasionally.

Is there a reason for considering that over the BOHICA products? They look very similar in terms of price.

My extremely limited contact with them makes me a little wary, that's all I'll say.

A name like that does not inspire confidence in the brand or product.

I purchased a unit from Bohica after waiting on the list for over a year.  The unit is well made and the customer service is good. My problem is finding a range that will allow me to use it.

I'd get the the metal forend option.

There are lots of BOHICA threads in the .50 cal forum

I've always wondered why the hell you would choose that as your company name.

I remember when I was growing up that was short for " Bend Over Here It Comes Again"

Interesting concept, decent execution.  However, a "bit much" for me personally––I wouldn't buy one after having shot one––but to each their own.

Right, that's what it still stands for... It's referring to whatever is downrange "getting it;" not the customer.  People seem so hung up on what is just a funny name.

Anyway, I have one of the first run of uppers.  It does what I wanted/expected of it, although I understand that the later ones are significantly improved.  When I ordered, the customer service was very good, barring the wait, which I was informed of when I ordered.  I spoke with the owner for about 20 minutes, asking technical questions and the like.  He was friendly and knowledgeable.

I started this thread about BOHICA, but the Safety Harbor stuff looks good too.  May have to do some research before pulling the trigger on one.

I have a BOHICA.
I bought one of the first MKIII's.
This upper has gone through many changes and upgrades.
Is it the best?  Well for what it costs I would say that "you get what you pay for".
For me it works fine, I don't shoot it much and when I do I am very careful about chambering technique.
I like mine and haven't had any problems at all.

I wanted to return my Bushmaster back to its stock configuration so I just purchased BOHICA's single shot lower and built it into a dedicated 50 BMG rifle.

Loads of info in .50cal forum and it's archives.

I pondered for a while and was leaning toward Ferret myself when I lucked into an Armalite.
Spend a few hours reading the entire archive, there is a ton there.
