I hate it when the writers get preachy about a topic.

When they had Gibbs characterize the murder in last night's show as a "hate crime" it was a bit out of character.

The Gibbs character is many things, but PC usually isn't one of them.

Well, what should one expect about a show that over glamorizes a security agency? Quite frankly, I rather cringed when they showed their ops on a similar level to the rep the real agency had during the Walkers.

They went total-retard PC last season when a Christian killed another Christian who had converted to Islam.

They have some left wing idealists writing the show - expect it to get worse.

Yeah, I've really stopped watching NCIS it's definetly not as enjoyable as it used to be .
I've also noticed that the more recient shows have had alot a more anti-gun setiment and false depictions of weapons . –– I remember one show in particular where a gang member is trying to sell guns out of his bag and he says " This is a Tec- 9 it's a fully automatic assault weapon " and than fires 30 rounds in full auto to test it . These are things that I would expect to see in the type of shows that are trying to convince the viewer " guns are bad "  and lobby for things like the Assault weapons ban  .
In all the old episodes of NICS they appeared to make sure to pay alot of
attention into making sure all the weapons are portrayed factually and the proper guns are carried by the proper characters  .

I think that was the last episode I watched.

I genuinely enjoyed the show, but 1) the agenda was getting liberalized, and 2) the whole 'everyone's past haunts them' theme got old.

I disagree - this show has jumped the PC shark a long time ago.

Remember the episode with the "honor killing" where a muslim killed his brother for converting to Christianity...?

Oh, wait  - the writeers actually had the Christian brother killing the OTHER brother - who had convertd to Islam - after deploying to the Middle East.!

The show has yturned into PC bullshit.

I quit watching mid last season.  They had an amazing if unrealistic character in Ziva.  Now she is a PC wuss.  The energy and edge seems long gone.

Another shining moment (although not overly liberal) was when Gibbs saved the rest of the team after they got caught saving Ziva in the middle east.

1000yd headshot through very cloudy glass

1000yd shot hitting a guy less than a second after he walks through the door.  The bullet wouldn't even arrive that quickly.

30sec later he's standing in the hall in his ghillie suit without any indication of time lost.

ETA:  Start around 2min mark.

There was a Cold Case episode where a couple of teenagers shoot up a mall.  I don't watch the show or any network TV for that matter; the only reason I saw it was because I was home for Christmas and my mother was watching reruns, but I digress.  One of the pistols the shooters used was a Tec-9.  In the dialogue they correctly refer to it as semi-auto, but in the flashback scenes it's full-auto with an endless magazine and it has zero recoil.

I hate these fucking shows because the general population gets their firearms knowledge from watching.

Her new hubby that she married in 2009 is a real handsome dude. Jesus needed to get a haircut before the wedding, but he skipped it. His fashion sense mirrors hers.

My bitch about the character on the show was the lack of personal growth, most exhibit some personal growth after nearly a decade. The writing for several of the characters has shown no growth. Not to mention the seeping sludge of leftism that is showing up.

I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks!

Ajek's reply was right on the money as I incorrectly worded my original post and made it sound like I was looking to substitute comedy for action/investigation.  How I Met Your Mother is good, I like how little Doogie has grown up. I like Californication even more, though it's a different comedy genre.

For the most part I like the show but there have been more and more bad parts to it lately.

I can't remember which episode this was exactly, but it included a team almost the same as the NCIS crew. It had a different acronym and was led by a woman.

The woman and Gibbs are listening to the action as one of the agents explains where the bad guy is located. The woman says something like, "We need him alive," and so the agent rushes in, the scene switches to slow motion as he shoots the bad guy in the legs and shoulders, leaving him alive. Then the bad guy appears to just give up, and drops his weapon. I can just see people watching this and thinking "Why don't more cops shoot the bad guys in the legs like that" and so forth.

It happens often on other shows but I hadn't seen the leg shoot on NCIS before.

It would have been satisfying to see the agent take a shot to the head while doing the whole shoot him in the legs to leave him alive thing. It would have been a nice dose of realism.

I find her annoying as hell. I don't think she's attractive, plays the part of a high school goth type and she's 40+. I remember seeing her with a sign that read "Smart people for Obama" which just proves she's a dumb fuck as well.

That is pretty much the reason why I swore off the show without even watching it. I wasn't too impressed with them in the 80's and I refuse to patronize a show that glorifies them. The portion of the episode I caught (it must have been at my mother's house where her nursing staff goes shows like this) where the youngins are staking out someone in a hotel, living it up, and then run afoul of a FBI stakeout rather demonstrated their rumored lack of professionalism in the Walker spy case. For a show to portray that as standard operating procedure and no one really caring I would think would make an actual agent blazing with anger. Mind you, there are good agents and bad agents and I have been fortunate enough to deal with some good agents.....but have had some misfortunes, too.

But what to say? It is a show of entertainment, of fantasy........but it seems to me so many people take it (and other shows) as something to learn from.
