I have a colt 14.5" socom profile barrel possibly (not trying to plug it here in GD) sold on the EE and I need to know if it is legal to ship the thing to Alberta,Canada. I'm trying to cover my ass as not to get a visit by anyone in a suit from Canada or the US .gov. Thanks, Don |

Loved that show Do you know there were an extra season or two that were only shown in Canada? I think CBC made them and a different guy played the american detective

That is what I need to call and confirm tomorrow, just need to find out where to call. Hopefully this will not be too complicated.
It would be legal to possess the barrel here. However, I am almost certain that you would need an export permit to send it here. P.S. I am NOT the guy who bought it. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Quoted: Quoted: At minimum you will need an EEI. Might need an export license. Google ITAR......... EEI? I am not the best guy with abbreviations, but I can figure out about 90% of them yet this one escapes me. Please enlighten me. Electronic Export Information. It is the online version of the SED, Shipper's Export Declaration, which was discontinued a year or so ago. It is how the US tracks the amount and value of exports among other things. It probably isn't going to be worth the trouble to ship it. I'm not sure the USPS will do it and UPS/FedEx are going to start at $50 and you will need a commercial invoice and a NAFTA Certificate of Origin. Read the Authorizations To Import section HERE. |

Quoted: Why even fuck with the matter? Let the buyer know that you didn't think to put "not for export" in your ad and move on. Worst case scenario you get a -1 from the guy, and you can retort that you did not want to ship to a foreign country. Why take the chance? He understands that there is a possible mound of shit that may be climbed, all I have to do is let him know. There will be no hard feelings towards anyone here with this deal. |

You already have the info needed to get an answer. Call the State Dept. Tell them you want to get an export license to ship a gun barrel to CA. Pay the fees, wait, pay UPS, ship it. Brew a pot of coffee and read all about it here. Or do as most have said and forget about it. |
