Son of a Bitch!!! I'm not doing something right or this Add-on is a pain in the fucking ass!!!!!!!

I'm getting a tone of stuff that wont load and I'm continually having to go in and adjust this fucker. Is that normal?

Is there a default setting that is ok or something?

Thanks

What exactly is the problem?  It stops web pages from loading until you allow them.

For instance, when i just tried to hit the new cnn gun poll i had to go in 5 times and allow different things on that web page to get the poll to show up. I hit the "allow everything on this page" but it wouldnt work.

Is ghostery a Add-on for FireFox?

I use it. I like it. It stops most of the stupid crap ads from loading too. I have it adjusted where the sites I use often work fine. Many of your exploits are done with java so it cuts down your risk footprint.

How did you get to that point? Time and lots of permissions or was there one setting you did and it was cool.

Thank you guys for the input!

Anyone else?

I love it.  Since most of what I do on the internet only takes me to a small amount of sites, I enjoy the fact that once permissions are set, any extranious crap doesn't load, making everything go a little faster.  Between noscript, and a redirect blocker, I'm set.

Yes, you have to, but once you have your routine down, it gets better. That thing has stopped more crap than what I could ever know.

There is an S or an "Options" button at the bottom of the screen when it blocks java. You can click it and "Allow" java from sites you trust and it will remember that.

You can make a "temporarily allow all" button on the toolbar from the Noscript options menu.

When a page has a ton of crap on it (like a CNN poll), temporarily allow all and then refresh the page. The page should then load properly.

I like NoScript a lot, it has really opened my eyes to how much tracking data is out there (google and facebook seem to be the worst offenders).

Worth the couple of extra seconds it takes to unblock sites IMO.

This is why I use it. Once you get all your favorite sites added in, it's not a problem.

If you go to a new site, either allow part or all of it. Don't choose temporary permissions for that site if you go there a lot, make it permanent instead.

I've been running it since first reading about it here a month or so ago.  I love it, but I've also dealt with such things long enough that I can pretty much pick and choose what to allow and what to disallow immediately.

YOU LIE! Of course they had a script for Firefox!

How else would you come up with such classic lines as;

"Can you fly it?" "Oh, I can fly it, you just make sure you are there to pick me up"

or

"You must think in Russian! You cannot think in English and Translate"

Classic Cinema and I take offense to you suggesting they ad-libbed it!

If you are on a page you trust just hover over the no script symbol in the lower right hand corner of firefox and select "allow all this page" and it will let though everything that it is blocking on that page. Obviously if you on a shady site i wouldnt recommend doing this. :)

I use and like NoScript, but it can be a bother on pages like CNN interactive stuff.

I don't know enough to say how it is done––but a lot of the crap they put on there is interlinked somehow. If you block one thing, several other things don't work at all, even though they're from totally-different domains.

And yes––the "temporarily allow everything on this page" doesn't always work.
Hint: you may have to move the mouse around on the page and right-click in different spots and hit "temp allow everything" (and re-load the page a couple times) to get EVERYTHING to get through, even temporarily.

You can left-click on a "blocked object" and say "allow this object" and it will automatically allow all the scripts required for THAT specific object.

There is also the ability to "temp" allow something and permanently allow it. Also, there may be something on the "perma-banned" list.

Center click on the the no script symbol in the lower right hand corner of Firefox and it will temporarily allow everything.
