Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms

Yet, I can't remember having read about or heard about them infringing on the rights of smokers or drinkers, ever.

Is it because the general public like to smoke, drink, or both?

Maybe there would be a lot more people looking to crawl up their ass and inspect their methods of doing things if they fucked with the average sheeple?

FUCK THE BATFE!

Mostly the infringement on A and T has been via taxes and age restrictions.

Just try running your own still and see what happens.

ETA: Even though I am a Hillbilly, I have never drank alcohol. However, I *would* like to be able to experiment
with making alcohol based fuels without jumping through a bunch of paperwork and permit hoops.

ATF does a lot regarding smuggling and "counterfeit" cigarettes, too.

BATF was created under the Treasury Dept. as a tax collection agency. Now they're a law enforcement agency under the DOJ.

You don't have a RIGHT to the A or the T, like you do to the F.

So they can't 'infringe' on something you don't have.

They heavily regulate booze and tobacco, however they only interact with the producers, not the users....

Yep. I think when I got my first stamp the return address was Dept. of Treasury.

You really don't think the government actually cares about anything regarding cigarettes and alcohol outside of them being inelastic goods (i.e. perfect for taxation), do you?

I have a buddy in the ATF, he says that they have generally moved away from the A and the T which is now mostly enforced by the local ABC (Alcohol Beverage Commission). They mainly deal with Firearms and Explosives these days.

well, if you consider black mail a non-issue.

how's this/  Hey TX, if you don't lower your speed limit to 55, no highway funds.  (Some moron statist "see, the states did it, don't blame the feds")

Hey, Ohio, raise your minimum age for alcohol from 19 to 21, or we take away billions in highway funds.

See, it's the states doing it, not the feds....

just because a right is not enumerated, does not mean it does not exist.

BUT WHEN TAX MONEY AND CONTROL CAN BE HAD, we'll start down that path of infringing on your rights....

Do not help them with the name change they do when irrelevance is coming to them via the recent election and the ones coming.Still is  the ATF and not the batfe
