| So I was born in 1985 remember a few Depeche Mode songs but not a lot of them. So anyway I was flipping through the 900 channels to choose from on my Mitsubishi 82 incher and came upon Depeche Mode on Palladia. I cant tell you why but it was one of the best concerts I have seen. This got me thinking what are some of the best concerts you have seen put on???? |

I took my little sister to see them back in 82 or 83, at the Hollywood Paladium in Los Angeles. Took a bunch of pics of them as well. I believe it was the Thompson Twins who opened up for DM and it was a good show.
I think Vince Clarke had just left to form Yazoo, so that was a bummer. I have a lot of their early stuff with him, on vinyl. Chris |
Oddly enough, the two best concerts I have ever been to were in the same year '94, Pink Floyd and NIN. I was at the show that resulted in them being banned from ever returning to that city . Third up was a Placebo show in a small venue. Didn't even know who they were, got dragged there by a girl I was trying to get with. Good night.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order... Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger Danzing - Long Way Back from Hell Butthole Surfers - Hairway to Steven Anthrax/Slayer/Megadeth - Clash of the Titans ... and quite a few others. |
| Wow... let me think here. My mother was an executive at Syracuse University so I got to see all of the great concerts in the 80s... The Stones, The Who, The Police, Duran Duran, Genesis, Springstein, Billy Joel, U2. Genesis played forever, was like a three hour show at least. Duran Duran was awesome just because all of the girls my age were in their mini skirts and heels and it was like heaven. I would have to say U2 and The Police were probably the best. Synchronicity and Joshua Tree are timeless. |

Free concert in Deep Ellum, I think it was '96... The Spin Doctors–– no shit. They rocked the fuck out. The Toadies (original lineup) Same thing, twice, free concerts again in downtown Dallas, and their final tour in College Station in 2001 (I think). But my fondest memories are two Robert Earl Keen concerts in College Station, amazing performer and musicians. Then Blockbuster Rockfest in 1997 just cause it was so epically huge with so many great 90's bands. I'd say Tool since they're actually my favorite band, but in 3 shows, including 1998 (I sure miss Maynard's younger voice and personality) the sound engineering has always been off in some way which really has frustrated me. |

I was a Depeche Mode fan in junior high before they were widely known (circa Speak and Spell album) then all through high school and college.
I know - gay. Saw them at Irvine Meadows in ~85 and ~87 (memory is fading) when I was in high school/college. Fantastic shows. Was funny to see the broad range of types of people at their shows. From your "New Romantic" type Emos of the day to roid ridden jock looking guys too. Oh! And hotties all over the place! |

Seen DM a couple of times and they always put on a good show. I have seen hundreds of bands live top shows in no order
Rammstein (FIRE!!!!!) Roger Waters The Wall , Going to take a lot for any one to come close to this. NIN seen over 20 times, the Lights in the Sky tour was an amazing production Clash of the Titans tour way back in the day |
|
The Kruder and Dorfmeister Remix of Useless is great make out music. In fact, most of The K&D Sessions is. Their mix of Trans Fatty Acid by Lamb is also awesome. |

Quoted: I've seen GWAR 4 or 5 times...that is certainly something worth seeing! I saw GWAR in November seen them a few times before was really disappointed they cut their stage show way back guess they just do not want/can't afford the crew/trucks/etc that goes along with their former shows which sucks as their stage show is the reason to go its not like they are that great of a band |

Tool (Aenema tour) at the Mercer Arena, which is a small venue with an open floor. I saw them at large venues and outdoor ones also and they were kind of boring in those.
Roger Waters at the Gorge Amphitheater. Black Flag on the upstairs floor of a tiny shithole building in Spokane. Rush, every time I have seen them. Gruntruck at the Off Ramp in Seattle. Green Apple Quick Step (Reloaded) at the Rock Candy in Seattle. Bauhaus at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. This one was surprising as they usually sound sloppy on live and studio recordings. They were anything but live. Another Surprisingly good one was Skid Row at the little West Central Community Center in Spokane. They rocked hard, blowing Pantera away. As far as Depress Mode, I listened to them a little back in the mid 80s. A Broken Frame was one of the better albums. I eventually got bored with them and never saw them live. |

I went to the Sea of Dreams concert on New Years Eve last week. Featuring Beats Antique and Thievery Corporation.
Here is the "The Final Countdown" they played right at midnight, It was an amazing and memorable night. Sea of Dreams New Year's 2011 |

I'd have to say Korn/Rob Zombie, forgot the year, around 2000. Honorable mentions: Lalapalooza '97 was good. Tool, Snoop Dogg, Devo, Tricky, Ziggy Marley. Ministry Animosity tour at the Rave in Milwaukee. Loud as fuck, awesome show. Primus Tails From the Punchbowl tour. I am a bass player, and I was in awe. DOT Festival in Ankeny Iowa. I saw Slipknot before they had a CD released, and Reverend Horton Heat. |
