What you need is a couple of JRT's, Jack Russel Terrorists; my two JRT's cornered a cat this morning!!
It was a hell of a tussle!! Cat would have been killed for sure except the wife ran out there in the middle and broke it up giving the cat a chance to escape; both dogs came in blooded a bit (none of their own was spilled) and the cat lived to fight another day.... I don't think it will be coming round here for a while though.... Note: To those Arfcom 'cat lovers', there was no encouragement of the dogs to 'get' the cat. None was needed, it is a feud as old as time, so no need to get all sanctimonious on me.....Dogs were doing what dogs do. Defending their yard against 'evil' cats..... |

Cats are tough as a coffin nail. Don't try and beat it to death, pellet gun to the brain. Seals are shot on mine Wear some good eye protection if shooting airsoft, last thing you want is to get tagged in the eye by a ricochet on Christmas Eve. |
| Does the vet have a capture pole? It's a piece of metal conduit with a plastic covered metal cable loop on the end. Get the noose around the cat pull the end and hang on as you try sticking it in a crate. I've done a few Bobcats that way over the years so you should be able to handle a feral cat. A .22 pellet between eye and ear/back of the head is best to kill it though. |
