Used to always get them, especially when I was a kid-Dads orders. Cool in the summer. Now though
I keep it longer- neatly trimmed- cause current GF likes hair. You can figger that one out.

Crew Cut or a Flat Top?

Two different cuts these days.

If I'm rocking a flat top, I go with a #1 on the sides, faded very high and cut just shy of having a "landing strip" down the middle of my noggin.

Crew Cut? #1 on the sides, faded very high (if at all) with a #2 or so on top.

My wife cuts my hair and uses a 1/4" attachment on top and the sides are cut to the skin.

#1 guard on my clippers for the all over buzz cut. I'm too impatient to wait in line, too cheap to pay a barber, and don't give a rusty fuck if anybody doesn't like it.
