I went by there a few months ago while spending the weekend in Dallas. There was an endless stream of long haired potheads, visiting to pay their respects.

Pantera shows were my favorite to go to, it sucks that they'll never play again. They were one of the few bands that never sold out and got even harder as they became more famous.

RIP Dimebag

LOL he's thinking of Great White one of the many bands who had their careers killed by Dime and Pantera.

Oh, you could survive the arrival of Pantera and Nirvana and all that other stuff. You just had to be for real real and not some fucking pretty boy posers is all. When the 90's rolled around those guys in Great white and Poison and Warrant said "Oh man, we a royally boned. "
Ha ha! Surprise cockfag!

Pantera always makes me think of the Back Room.  I saw a shitload of bands there (played a lot of pool and drank a lot of beer there too).  Good times.

I saw Pantera twice, in 1997 (with Anthrax) and 1999 (opening for Black Sabbath).

RIP Dimebag.

so, question time:

1.  Is Phil Anselmo responsible in any way for his death, or is he just a jerk with lead singer disease and diarhea of the mout?

2.  Speaking of the "pretty boy" bands, anybody see or hear Pantera back when they were one of those?  They used to play in a former bowling alley on Fort SIll Blvd in Lawton pretty regularly in the early/mid 80s - I road crewed for a local band called Paradox that also played there a lot. Pantera didn't turn spuer-heavy until later....

Did they ever find out why that guy killed Darrell and all of those other people?
While I wasn't really a fan of his music, his talent was obvious and his death is a real shame.
