| Just wondering who all dips a bit here? I've been doing it off and on since I was 12. Presently chew long cut go through about 2 cans a week. I sometimes alternate between Cope and Kodiak just for a difference. I will say one thing I am going to tell my children to never start this habit, it is hard to quit. |

Let's see, I may have voted a bit incorrectly.
Anyway, started dipping skoal in 1981 at the age of 13. By the age of 15 I started Copenhagen (regular cut, there wasn't any other choices then). I've been dipping Cope ever since. Total years is 29. No problems yet. Learn to switch sides when your mouth gets irritated to avoid most problems. I smoked for 18 years, while dipping at the same time, and I feel that smoking is much more harmful. I don't condone dipping, but it's better than smoking. M.L. |

Quoted: A bunch of the oil boys I work with dip. Not judging, but pretty nasty when indoors or working in close proximity. Those boys spit EVERYWHERE. Almost tried it after a few too many beers. The guys tell me I would have lost my lunch... Yeah my favorite was getting a guy to try some after drinking a little. They'd do alright for a while, but eventually they all get the cold sweats, and then revisit lunch. I always spit into a bottle or can, cant stand those guys who spit in to the center of a talkin circle.

I am very good about taking a bottle with me for spitting in no matter where I am going. |

The funniest thing I have ever seen is a guy saying I put in a pussy dip. It was pry 2 3 finger. I said "Have at it hoss." He put in about a quarter of my can in a horse shoe dip. I knew better than this as it still makes me sick and I've been chewing for years. He was sick for an hour or two after he puked his guts up.

| I guess I was lucky, a simple two finger dip would hold me, a three finger would be fine. Because of this, and my chewing habits a can would last a week or so, and a bag would usually dry out before I used it all since I can chew on redman for hours. But a guy at work would go through a couple cans a day with a half a can dip. Would make me sick just watching him stuff it into his lip. He quit here recently too. |

started in high school, stopped a month ago or so. When ever the last dip thread came around. Cold turkey, and think i've kicked it 100%, no craving, no thoughts, nothing. time line and how did you do that? Will power the only way. I have tried everything in the book to quit. Nothing works except for wanting to quit. I had a shop teacher who was off dip for ten years and salivated every time he smelled or talked about it. He never narked on me when I was chewing because I 18 and clean about it which I appreciated. Every time I open a new can though I salivate like crazy. |

Used to use Skoal on a regular basis. Now I buy a can every few months just for kicks. I did if for about 4 years. It has been 2 years since I "quit." Quoted:
Dipped cope from little school in 1980 through 2nd Infantry in 1990. Started using Skoal wintergreen (or similar) from then until April 1st, 2006. I dipped for 26 years. I gave it up because it was do or die with the VA. Quoted:

20 years. i started while wrestling in high school. i quit two weeks ago. That's exactly how I got my start. Good job making the effort to quit. It sucks, but not being able to chew or kiss your wife later in life would suck more. |

I voted for Copenhagen since it's still and always will be my brand of choice, however that shit's expensive.
Red Seal long cut natural for me. for about 16 years now (calendar wise, I occasionally quit for a few months to a year or more, to prove to myself and my mom that it's a choice, and not an addiction.) I actually enjoy it. I like the taste, and it somehow seems to balance me out. I concentrate a lot better with it than without it.

But I get your point |
