I placed an order in August for two holsters.

Order was marked shipped that week, but one holster A was changed to back-ordered.

I did not recieve my item, and contacted OpticsPlanet. They said even though the order was marked shipped they would hold all items until everything was ready to ship... ok, fine.

Finally all items ship, a month later.

Holster A was perfect.
Holster B was the model I ordered, and while the website said it was for the a M&P9, it in reality was for a glock.

I was pissed that this now was going to take more time, but they setup an RMA quickly and I returned it to them.

Every week I have checked with them and they push it back another week or two.

It is now almost December and I still have not recieved my product.

TLDR: Don't order from OpticsPlanet.

Sounds like you had a bad experience, but I have ordered stuff from them and know others who have and this is unusual. I doubt you're going to convince anyone to boycott them.

I've ordered lots of stuff from Optics Planet and have never had a problem....
Except once, and that wasn't really a problem - I ordered a Galco holster and it took about two months to arrive, everything else I've ever ordered always shows up within a week of ordering.

Ive placed 3 or 4 orders with them, I will again. Good deals and always goes good for me.

Sounds like there customer service is just fine.

You ordered somthing they made a mistake and are taking care of it.

What am I missing?

Usually seems they have something really cheap or the price is through the roof. The web interface is the main reason I don't shop there.

Someone with a recent story of problems trumps your "a long time ago they were great" story.



Not dating either story, but when someone post something like this that they are STILL dealing with I pay attention.

Have placed approx. 10 orders from them over the last 2 years - last only a month ago.  Other than an occasional backorder, I've never had anythng but good service.  YMMV.

I had a pretty awful experience as well. I was overseas and ordered an item to be shipped to my US address. Since it was a laser item, they said they couldn't ship it outside of the US. I repeated that I wanted it shipped INSIDE THE US. After explaining everything they decided not to sell me the item at all, wasting a week of my time.

Fuck Optics Planet right in the mouth. Fuck them hard. I did some searching and got the exact same item for less elsewhere, INCLUDING a mount.

That's right: Optics Planet was actually cutting open the packaging, taking out the mounts, then selling the lasers and mounts separately. They are con artists. Fuck them.

I am glad to hear that many of you have had positive experiences with OpticsPlanet.

This is by no means a call to boycott or anythign similar. I just wanted to a) vent and b) let other people know.

Personally, I think it is rediculous that an order placed in early August for a $30 item has not yet been delivered.

Well, I recieved the item finally.

OpticsPlanet has free shipping on orders over $30, otherwise $6.99.

My original order was over $30, so they didn't charge shipping. I RMAed the product which was not correct (their fault) and they finally sent it back to me.

However, it appears they charged me for shipping to send me the correct product. Twice.
