Hollywood Video closed a few months ago. When they were closing, I bought a video(equilibrium) and asked if there was any other debt in my account, there was not. Today, I got a letter in the mail from Credit Collection Services that I owe almost $170. Read about a lot of this happening with this company and HV accounts in particular. As of right now I'm gonna send a letter with a return reciept asking for proof of debt, ect. Any advice? I dont want my credit jacked over some scam. Thank you.
Edit, this is their websight - VERY Professional!!! HAHAHAHA https://www.ccsusa.com/ccsnotice/index.ihtml |

no advice? Always return stuff on time? ![]() I did, its a common anomaly with hollywood video. If i was at fault I would have recieved a bill and my account would not have been clear. You cant rent movies if you have late fees, $180 is a lot for a movie... doesnt add up. Im gonna talk to someone and contact them by mail only. |

Just a guess, but there is probably more of this going around, and it's probably being discussed at length at creditboards.com forums. Search hollywood video as well as the collector. did this and found creditboards... CCS has 128 federal suits currently. Im gonna get a preliminary letter written and take it to a lawyer. Ill keep yall posted... Just when I start to get ahead, this happens. Oh, well. At least life aint boring!
