Yesterday when I got home I let the dog out, then got something to drink and started on school work.

I was pretty focused on reading, making flash cards, and prepping for a quiz.

Then I noticed it was raining.  Hard.

Back to studying.

Then I realized the dog when still outside in that downpour.

I let her in and toweled her off.  She wasn’t miffed at me for leaving her out there.  She looked at me like, “Thanks for letting me in.  I appreciate it.  You’re my best friend.”

If I had left my wife out there…

Yep, They live in the moment.

My dogs have been Gods' blessing to me in some
trying times the will just sit by you and be a friend.

When my Dad died my last GSD just sat by me
she gave me comfort and asked for nothing in return.

I rubbed her down good with a towel (she loves that) and gave her a biscuit to ease my conscience.

She enjoyed the attention.

What's the old joke?......

If you take your wife and your dog and lock them in the trunk of your car and drive around the block a few times,  which one will be happy to see you when you open the trunk?

That's why they are man's best friend.
