I am purchasing a rifle and  2 lowers from AIM in the near future. Is it reasonable to request a discount on the transfer fees? They will all be from one place at one time one order to one buyer. I am going to request a discount anyway but, thought I would ask as I am a cheap bastard by nature.

you're a gun buyer, so it's assumed you're cheap already.  it won't hurt to ask.

Yep, I know at least 4 on the gun broker map charge 30+5, 1 is 70 and 1 more is 50 + % of sale. Its not that I cant find one they just all charge the same or are just too far to make it worthwhile. I appreciate your help, I do but  35 is what it is here in the "Bold New City Of The South" LOL I dont mind paying, but paying triple for the same work well, it sucks but thats what it is I guess.

I charge $22 for one, but if there are say 3 long guns I usually do it for the same price. Normally the guys are freaked out enough that they throw in extra which is nice. Charging per serial number is a rip off!

Cool.

Might as well call and ask if her can do all 3 for 1 or 40$ for all.

Worst he can do is hang up.

My FFL charges $100 for transfer/tax/DROS on the first gun and $65 for each additional on the same DROS.

One guy across town does it for $15.  Now I just use my SOT for all my transfers and it's $20 for Title I transfers and $50 for Title II transfers.

Man, you get a discount on multiples?  Lucky bastard!

Going rate around here is $100 ea. or 10% of sale value, whichever is higher, no deals.

Most of the shops around here charge $40. I found a kitchen table dealer who'll do them for $20. He actually lives across the street from me, which doesn't really help my habit.

Almost all the FFL's in town had a fucked up gentelmens agreement to charge $50 per xfer.  A new pawn guy got on scene and started doing 25$ no matter how many guns you got at the same time.  He doesn't hardly do any business except for money lending so his name around town hasn't caught on yet.

However, the newest guy who has the only range in town doesn't charge me a dime. He said that any .mil personell that gets xfers  through him, he won't charge.  He's also lent me his property, bought a tree stand and a corn feeder for me to use.  He's letting me hunt his land and all he asks is that I keep the feeder stocked.. Yeah, he's pretty much awsome and gets ALL of my business.

Where's that at? $25 to $30 around here, and thats multiple items not each one.

Here in IL, there are 3 big gun dealers in my town, and they charge $50, $75 and $100 per, respectively.  They all go on and on about internet price this and kitchen table that, and really don't want to do transfers at all.  The catch is that at least one, if you go in to trade/sell a gun, the first thing he does is look fo ra lowball internet price to offer to you...the hypocrite...  and before anyone calls BS on the prices, the shops are Capitol City arms, Birds and Brooks, and Letz's hunt and sport, respectively, in Springfield.  $20 transfer?  yeah right...  P08 can back me up...

What the hell are you crying about ?  I paid $ 15 the last time i used my FFL and before that it was 10,  that's a damn good price because alot of them  get 25 or 50.

$20 here- $50 and up is just criminal; dealers like that need to go out of business.

lets see, it takes maybe 10 minutes of work, so at $10, that would be a rate of $60 an hour.  fuck that shit.  $100 for 10 minutes of work? fucking capitalist thieves

yeah why not might as well ask

something simple and easy like 2 lowers Id give ya a discount and do it for 1 fee
now want to transfer 20 surplus rifles from AIM yeah I'm not gonna hit ya full tilt on each gun but I not gonna screw with it for 1 transfer fee either
actually had a guy do that asked of he could get a 2 or 3 rifles shipped in for 1 transfer fee  I said sure

he ended up getting 25 IIRC he was miffed I charged him for 2 transfers

$35 plus fifteen minutes of whining that I didn't buy from him for 2x MSRP and he's going to go out of business because of internet sales.

Unless I find an awesome deal, it's such a chore that I just buy at our infrequent gun shows now.

Never bought more than one gun at a time, so I gotta ask: If a customer wants to have several transfers done at the same time, can all of them be handled with just one NICS phone call?
