...whenever someone I work with finds out how many ARs I have, there first question is "do you want to sell one?"

Either they have never heard of a gun store or they think I am going to take a huge loss and give them a screaming deal.  These are my military coworkers.

I usually offer to help them build one for themselves, but for some reason they always decline.  Lazy bastiches!

DAG NAB IT!

These aren't really gun guys, but they all want one like we use on duty.  I don't blame them, but it really is easier to buy one from the store.

Hey, we have an armory full of them.  Just can't sell them without going to Leavenworth.      Kind of hard to take home too.

Maybe it's the whole "you can only shoot one at a time" attitude.

Sooooooo, you ready to sell one of those ARs?

Better than them asking WHY you have them.

Another one!

That is probably it, but like a lot of guys around here I have numerous ones that are all different.  I can't live without them all.
The good news is that I have managed to convert one of the rather liberal guys in my unit over to the dark side.  We are going to build a AR for him when we get home.  Supposedly for "hunting".  His wife is going to kill him.

Most of the people in the military never really realize the cost of even a bare bones m4/m16 look alike. When they hear 1200+ they really don't believe it. I have had this happen to me dozens of times.

I'd ask. Whenever I hear of someone having guns I ask. My FIL and I went to a yardsale where they had a bunch of military gear and hunting stuff. Turned out to be the recently deceased hubby's stuff. FIL asked if she had any guns to sell and we went home with an old Model 42 winny and a Colt Python for $75...can we say at least  a solid grand just for the 42?!? It never hurts to ask.
