As a kid i remember the robots as characters. Not for the most part in the movies they are nothing but scenery or props. I can barely tell the difference between the main ones, let alone the background ones. Scene after scene of cgi metal moving too fast to see, and not knowing if its a bad guy or good guy shooting. |

The only way I'd know if they were good or bad was if they were firing at the humans or not. |

Try reading a book sometime. I find my imagination provides much better special effects than Hollywood ever could. I'm quite fond of the classics. I go into it expecting a masterfully woven story. I'm quite fond of action movies. I go into it expecting explosions, violence and little or no story. How is the Tranformers franchise any different from the Missing In Action franchise, Rambo franchise, or Predator franchise? Dont get your panties in a wad because you went into it expecting it to be something its not. |

Exactly how I feel, sitting there watching wondering who is who. Optimus & Bumble Bee are about the only ones you can tell. The 2nd one was bad although I did buy it on BluRay |

Honestly, I think special effects were much better pre-CGI... I agree to an extent. If the CGI work is minimal in only trying to make a small effect happen then it can be pretty good. When the whole movie has it then its hard to make it work. Its really about what studio is doing the effects. Movies with real world special effects always look better to me though. |

I'll definitely be going to see it in the theaters. I love a good scifi action movie with lots of explosions and cgi. Luckily for me I don't go to see these types of movies expecting a deep meaningful story line with in depth character development and academy award winning cinematography. I just go to see a lot of shiny shit get blown up in lots of big explosions.
