Local clinic coming on Oct 25th for me and my employees.

I foot the bill for my EEs and if they want to have a family member come and get them it is 5$ per.

I take one every year.

Probably safe...

I don't ever get them though myself.

I guess they're fine if you don't mind the tracking nano-bots and mind-control drugs from the Obama administration, and supporting the giant international drug companies that are just fleecing you - and giving you autism.

I don't get the flu shot, but you certainly can.

Are you allergic to eggs?

It certainly won't kill you... now.

Y'all can do what you want to, but I'm not voluntarily taking any type of flu shot.    You can laugh at me when I get the flu, and I can laugh at you when you get cancer in 20 years.

Now, I really won't laugh, because I'm not as asshole like that, I was just trying to get a point across.   And watch, I'm the one who will get cancer and die.   Ahh.  Irony is a bitch.

But seriously, I think people place too much emphasis on modern medicine and use it as a full-time crutch instead of a once in a while "have-to" thing.  Short of a plague that causes imminent death, I'm not getting any type of virus injected into my body.

Now, mock to your heart's desire.

I've never had the flu shot.
I got swine flu last year.
I was feverish my muscles were sore for a week.
I recovered, now I'm much less likely to get it again.

I need to get a flu shot. I'm tired of getting the flu every single year and having it kick my ass.... Right now I'm trying to find out where the cheapest place to get a flu shot is.

I haven't taken one in years. I remember years ago getting one and got sick as hell.

My mocking consists of curiosity about what mechanism you think will cause a flu virus to turn into cancer.

Last year was a record low # for the amount of flu shots sold due to all the hysteria (and it may have been well deserved) over H1N1 shots.

as a result

Last year was also the record low for the number of flu cases reported!

Shhhhhhh!  How will we get barcodes injected into everybody if you keep that up?

Seriously, though.  How many hundreds of millions of these shots have been given just in the last year or 2?  And how many billions (that's 9 zero's, folks) over just the past decade?
Now how many people with adverse reactions?
Exactly.

The flu vaccine (shot) is safe.  I get one every year (and have done so since 1993), and I am right up in sick peoples' "grills" all of flu season.  And I don't catch the flu.
Now that flu-mist nasal spray vaccine?  No thanks –– I'm not spraying a weakened (but live) flu virus up my nose.

Got mine yesterday at work, combined flu and H1N1 in one shot (last year it was 2 shots).  I'm still alive, but I do have a bit of a headache today which may or may not be related to getting the shot yesterday.

They are free.  As long as you're not allergic to any of the ingredients (they may have gotten rid of the allergens by now) then there is virtually no down side.  Get one.  Be protected.

Bonus for me: the more people around me who are vaccinated, the better the herd immunity, and the less need for me to be stuck with a needle.  Do it!

Less likely to get that strain of the flu again.  The flu mutates every year.  There is an 80%* chance that there will never again be an outbreak of that strain of influenza again during your lifetime.

*Don't hold me to that exact percentage because I can't remember the actual statistics, but it's unlikely.

Why would it give you cancer?  The flu shot has been around since the 1940s, we have years and years of data to look at it's safety record.

Because of the scare more people were more careful about being around people who showed symptoms, more people washed their hands and used sanitizers, more people covered their mouths when they coughed, less people shook hands/made body contact with others, and more people stayed home when they felt ill.  It wasn't the lack of vaccinations that caused the number of cases to decline, it was the increased awareness and prevention of transmission by the general public that lowered the number of cases.  If more people get vaccinated this year and the general population practices prevention to the same degree as last year, there will be a drastic reduction in the number of influenza cases this year compared to last year.

And that reason would be: to keep you alive just long enough to pass on your DNA by breeding and helping the child survive to breeding age.  Once you are past that age, your biology doesn't really care if you live or die, because you've served your purpose.Once you are in your 50's and up, the immune system isn't really that "designed" to keeping you alive for the next 30-40 years.

Also, where do you draw the line for what you let your immune system handle?

Infection?
Bronchitis?
Pneumonia?
Cancer?

Should your children's immune systems just handle things like polio, T-B, etc, if they come back (as they probably will, due to illegal immigration), or would vaccines be a good idea at that point?

Live fast and hard while you can.

ETA: That's also the reason the old timers need so much medication/health care to keep going.  But hey, maybe it's worth it so grandparents can babysit the kids while they parents go out and "play."

I have pretty much always been hit with the flu once a year and was down for a week.  The last 3 years I got a flu shot...all 3 years I still got hit with flu like symptoms and was down for a week.  I'm not getting the shot this year.

I heard on a Health TV show that only 20% of Flu type illness during Flu season is genetically linked to a Virus included in the shot for a given year. So even if you take the shot you are only protected from 20% of the Virus that is making the rounds.

Also Alex Jones says the shot will make your nuts fall off and you will catch the Gay.
