I'm seriously considering buying a Valentine One. On their website it looks like I can get
it for $399 but it's going on Ebay for $50+ more. Am I right to assume that buying it for less from the valentine website I'm getting the same product? Unfortunately the site does not specify which version it is. Any help is appreciated. |

It is their site, so you could always use the contact us feature to send them an email to compare the two. I highly doubt that someone on ebay even a distributor has a more up to date version that Valentine themselves. It is from the valentine site. I guess I'm just taken back that they are selling it for more than their resellers. I'll just buy it directly from them along with the remote audio and display to set up a stealth install. |

In short, the V1 is worth the money I you need a detector. The main reason for buying through their website I free lifetime software upgrades. Also, if your unit breaks outside of warranty they'll repair/replace at a fraction MSRP. |

Some of the older units don't have all of the capabilities of the newest ones. If you buy a used one and upgrade it later you will have spent more than buying it new.
Also, are there any authorized resellers, I thought only one bought from the factory were legit. |
Radar detectors don't mean shit if the cop testifies that you were speeding during traffic court. ![]() It'll be an open and closed case and you'll owe money, plus some. What's your defense? I really was speeding, but my detector said the cop wasn't using any device? My detector malfunctioned! That's no fair?! There's no way you can get out of it. |

Quoted: When I bought my V1 five years ago (with many saves), it seems like Valentine doesn't ship the V1 outside the states. So if you want one and live outside the country, you have to buy one second hand. I'm seriously considering buying a Valentine One. Valentine can update it if they have new firmware or if you think it's out of tune. |

There is nothing wrong with getting a little heads up of a cop car while your driving... even if it doesn't work 100% of the time. I need a radar this is a tagThere are some good reviews online. I decided to go with Valentine over the others even though it did not always get the best reviews. Some say it has the best protection available now from Laser. Some say that nothing will protect against laser. Now I will at least know the areas that I drive through are using laser and I can be more cautious. I don't consider it a free pass to drive like an asshole but a heads up if I'm going 10-15 over will be nice. |

Most jurisdictions are using instant-one laser. No laser/radar detector is going to cover that. Using a bait car running ahead of you defeats instant on anything. The V1 detects laser. The scatter from laser or radar provides excellent warning with enough time to slow down. PoPo goes for the first car every time, even if he doesn't stop them. |
