I only count 6 F's in the sentence.  Can anyone figure this out?

ETA: I'm really not trying to fool anyone.  Someone sent this image to me, confused as you guys are.  Is it possible there really isn't a solution?

If you count the upside down t's it's 12

There are 0 F's in 'this sentence'

[#6]
The lower case t's are upside down f's.

Edit:  but that makes 12....and there's only one capital F, which is what they were asking for....

That would make it 12 and it states that there are 11 in there. WTF is going on here?

Lameness.

There are six Fs.

An upside-down T is not an F. Its a T.

A sideways F is not an F. Its two letters close together.

There is no optical illusion.

[#14]
If the "illusion" is supposed to be that a lowercase "t" somehow counts as an "f", then that is completely idiotic, because the dimensions are NOT the same and if the t's are really f's, then the "sentence" isn't in English anyway and the entire question makes no sense.

That's like saying that 6 + 9 = 18 because the 6 is really an upside down 9

Count the number of F's in this sentence: Franklin's father fought forty featherweight fighters.

F's are in bold.

there's no way there are 11 in that sentence.

They are counting the "GH" and "TH" as f sounds?
9/22/2010 11:29:11 AM EDT
[#40]
i think they are counting the gh as an f, maybe the ough as well.  Kind of like spelling fish 'ghoti".  At least that is my guess.  probably wrong.
9/22/2010 11:29:21 AM EDT

There are actually no F's in the sentence.  I won't tell you why, it's an optical illusion.
9/22/2010 11:31:06 AM EDT
[#42]
If you really want to get picky, the number of "Fs" is zero.

If the question was worded like, What is the total number of the letter F or f, then the answer would be 6.

I've seen this before and it's still stupid.

English has some goofy spellings.  the 'gh' in cough sounds like an f, the 'o' in women sounds like an i, and the 'ti' in nation sounds like sh.  put them together and you get ghoti = fish.

How many bong hits does it take to see 11 Fs in that sentence?
