Poor little critter. Mange is a bitch.

It's a shame to see what the mange does to them.   Otherwise, they are truly beautiful species.

Hey, you haven't lived 'til you've had mange tartar.

Good shoot, a plus given because you used the 17HM2!

You saved him a long, slow, painful, death.

Looks like that critter was on its last leg anyway.  What round caused that carnage?

I love the 17 HMR.  Plastered a gopher with a black tip at 25yards off hand, his body was literally a bag of bones with no head and no guts.

17 grain VMAX.

HM2 is the HMR short.

I love it. Pretty quiet and shoots straight as a pin. Have only shot out to 100 yds but I think it's good for a little more. At 50 it's a laser.

Yeah man... we had one around last summer but it took about 2 months for me to see it when I had an opputunity to shoot it. Hit it with the XCR one morning.  I felt so bad for the thing... mange is one nasty thing I would never wish on any animal.

Better to put down a sick animal than let it suffer. good shoot 10/10

It goes away with weeks of treatment. I've never heard of it just "going away."

Don't worry, we'll put you down as quickly and as painlessly as possible.

How many weeks of treatment does it take to cure death?

How are you going to treat a wild animal?

With a rifle.

If the mange didn't kill it, winter would have.

Poor little guy. Sucks for him. I hate to see any animal suffering, especially a neat one like a fox.

You did good. Nice shooting too.
