Anyone ever use Tannerite exploding targets?

Is it like plastic where you need to assemble two halfs together?

How about a high powered pelet gun. Will that set it off?

My buddy and I were looking into making our own reactive targets... but he's worried that a farm supply store won't sell us the ammonium nitrate.  We have farm buddy's that could get it.. but there is no way in hell going in and buying 1 50lb bag of it isn't going to set off suspicion as to why a farmer isn't buying a few pallets

Directions for roll your own...  This may be illegal in your area, and I am not encouraging anyone to make their own.

if it's legal, it's legal, if it's not, it's not.  buying one bag may get a raised eyebrow, but at the same time if it's not illegal "they" can't do anything to you.  burden of proof is on them to prove you are up to something, and if you're upfront about making exploding targets for personal use, to be constructed in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws, "they" can't do shit to you.

You can still be arrested, your dog/dogs shot, your home torn apart during a seach warrant, have to pay thousands in attorney fee's, go to trial, and just because you are innocent does not mean you might not get convicted because the lame stream media will label you a right wing terrorist and the right will probably go along with it just so the left won't say the right endorse's it.

i rather buy it so i can point the finger at tannerite and say they sold it to me.  They can pay lawyers to fight it, not me.

Yep, two part mix of powders.  Personally we found it easiest to just get a five gallon bucket and mix it all up then divide it into the individual targets. The instructional video wan't so instructional as it was just a bunch of people blowing up targets.

It's legal to roll your own, per the ATF agents I spoke to.  The hard part is getting the powdered AL these days.
