| My buddy in the communist state of NY is looking for a handgun after waiting 8 months for his permit. He wants a Taurus 24/7 in .40. What does the hive know about these? |
The few Taurus guns that have passed through my shop in the short time I've been open... sure haven't impressed me.
Two brand spanking new Judges came in a couple weeks ago. BOTH had loose front sights. (like almost falling out) and one had a cylinder with a loose press-fit that would allow it to pull off the shaft. I can't speak for the 24/7 line of firearms... but based on the lack of quality I've seen in the first two brand new Taurus guns I ordered, I sure as shit won't be ordering any more.

Good god, what a letdown would he have after waiting eight months to get a POS Taurus
One of my buddies in college had one; it was utter garbage. Front sight went downrange, wouldn't stay put even after a trip to Taurus. The rubber grip frayed very quickly and became an ugly mess. The trigger felt spongy to me, but to it's credit, it did always go bang when you pulled the trigger. My grandfather owned one in .40 for a while. I never shot that one, but he sold the pistol right quick. I'll take that as strike two. Another family member has a Taurus 907 or something Beretta-looking. The pistol couldn't make it through an entire mag without a FTF/FTE of some kind. Strike three. Tell your friend to get a Glock or a Smith & Wesson MP |
