I want an EAA Witness in 10mm. I mean I want it the way 17 yr old boys want pussy. Problem is I don't have any money. I have two Norinco SKS rifles. One is stock and I intend to keep it. The other is a "Paratrooper" model that somebody Bubba'ed before me and has a drilled and tapped receiver. I added a TAPCO stock and magazine. I still have the original stock and magazine but the wood handguard for the gas tube broke while I was replacing it with the TAPCO. SKS rifles are at a premium right now but will probably continue to go up in price. Problem is, mine isn't exactly collector worthy. So I have two questions:
First, how much should I try to get out of the rifle if I sell it? Second, am I full retard for wanting to sell it? |

Great poll, lulz Partial retard. Sell the Bubba'ed SKS if you must. I have no idea of value. Search EE and Gunbroker for a ballpark? That's what I did first. Oddly, I only found one in EE and three on Gunbroker. I didn't consider that a big enough sample to get a good idea of fair price. I'd like to get at least $400 out of it, but I don't know if that's anywhere near reasonable. |

Anybody have any idea how much I should ask for? Around here, SKS rifles sell for 200-365. Start high, you can always lower your price What kind of SKS? When you can find them, even Yugos are going for about $300. My problem is that I can't find any Norincos to compare to now. If it was five years ago, I'd start at $300 and accept anything above $225. If it was ten years ago I wouldn't expect much over $100. Now I have no clue what to ask. We used to be swimming in these things. |
So you want a 10mm and are so broke you need to seel, uh sell, an SKS to finance just the pistol? Have you looked at the price of 10mm ammo? At all?
You remind me of a guy I knew in college who, regardless of my advice to the contrary, bought a .50AE Deagle instead of the CZ-75B I recommended. He bought two boxes of ammo and sold the gun immediately after blowing through those two boxes because ammo was too expensive. I still have my CZ from those days - back then I'd buy $20 of reloaded ball every week (~250 rnds) and get some trigger time in. Bottom line is - buy the best gun you can AFFORD to shoot. |

Yeah, I saw that "seel" right after I posted it. Unfortunately, you can't edit a poll. I am aware of how expensive the ammo is, I intend to handload most of it. I'm also aware of the investment I'll need to sink in holsters. This isn't my first handgun and it won't be my primary carry piece, at least not until I've shot the piss out of it. The cost of the ammo, holsters, mags, etc. are the REASON I can't afford to just buy the gun. If it were just the gun I might could swing it in a month or two. |
