I've had Verizon ever since I got my first cell phone. I do the new every two and get the "insurance" with every phone I've ever had. The current phone I have is a LG Versa.
Question 1). If I smash the crap out of my phone with a hammer, will I get a new one, no questions asked, for the $50 deductable? 2) Will it be replaced with another Versa? (don't really care for the phone, it was the best available option at the time). 3) Is there a way to get into a Droid at a cheaper price with a smashed Versa? 4) I have the unlimited data package already, will a droid end up costing me more per month? (like the Blackberry fees) If worst came to worse I guess I'd take a referb'd Versa, mine is just wore out. Thanks |
| the insurance gets you the same phone you have, so you are stuckj with the versa, and yes it would be a refurbished phone unless all they had is new on hand at the time of exchange. The droid unlimited data pack is the same as other smart phones the blackberry package is more. |

No, only manufacturer defects covered for free in the first 6 months 2) Will it be replaced with another Versa? (don't really care for the phone, it was the best available option at the time). Yes, it will be the same phone unless discontinued, then it will be a comparable replacement 3) Is there a way to get into a Droid at a cheaper price with a smashed Versa? No 4) I have the unlimited data package already, will a droid end up costing me more per month? (like the Blackberry fees) No, and I didn't have BB fees, just the data plan If worst came to worse I guess I'd take a referb'd Versa, mine is just wore out. Thanks ETA: Verizon customer since 2000 |

Heck, I had a 'friend' back over my phone once after helping him on his car. He then refused to help with replacing it and Verizon said since it wouldn't power on or light up they wouldn't replace it (I only had the extended warranty).
Fast forward a few hours and I returned to Verizon with a phone that now had a keyboard that would light up and they replaced it. (I may or may not have doctored the wiring inside the phone to allow the keypad led's to light when the battery was connected...) ETA: I had paid for several months of the Asurion Insurance, and then mysteriously it vanished from my plan the month prior to the incident. Verizon said it may have been a glitch in their system but there was nothing they could do about it. Assholes. |
