So my GF came over and we're headed out to dinner, my car is parked in the garage and we both get in the car, raise the door and as I'm backing out I notice some old hooptie Camry in my driveway parked behind my GFs car. I look around and don't see anyone but my house has a large court yard to the front door so I get out of the car, pull my P229 (16rds of bonded Winchester Ranger +Ps) out of my crossbreed supertuck and head towards my front door, I get about 4 feet from my car and here comes a pizza delivery lady from my front door with a pizza in her hand, I started to raise my pistol but quickly put it down when I realized who/what she was. She was one house off but her car didn't have any markings on it, she said that she understood why I was wondering why someone was at my front door etc..
So she didn't end up looking down the barrel of my gun or anything but she definitely got wide eyed when she saw the pistol in my hand at my side. /Cool Story Bro |

Hooptie of the type usually driven by gang bangers and criminals - check.
Occupants gone to unknown location trespassing on your property without your permission - check. You have no idea who the hell that car belongs to, but they are likely up to no good. At this point, it's obvious that you had information indicating that there was a likely threat and were probably in fear for your safety. Action beats reaction. You should have shot her - if your instincts had been correct about the type of person you were dealing with, and they had pulled a gun, they would have been able to shoot you first. Since the only way to come out on top and not get hurt in this scenario is to not allow them the opportunity to shoot, you fail for not shooting and it's only by the grace of God that it wasn't an armed robbery scenario. Waiting to see what her intent was could have gotten you killed. |

I gotta agree, after much thought and consternation, there would have been a real possibility that she could've dropped the pizza on the ground. I mean, seriously, have some respect for others, especially your hungry neighbors. |
