So I'm drinking a Bud Light Wheat and I'm wondering why there's a white glob in the bottom of my bottle....
Thoughts? |

Wheat Beers have a bit of sediment. Decant the beer as you pour and leave a bit of the beer in the bottle. If you like a Wheat Beer, maybe try a microbrew. You'll enjoy it. I haven't searched the Jacksonville area enough to figure out where all the micro-brewery locations are... and I've been there for 5 years, it's my own damned fault. Thanks for the education! |

There are different styles of wheat beer.
The kind that is unfiltered (i.e., unfermented yeast is left in the beer) is called Hefeweizen. Bud Light Wheat is this style of beer (although technically not, since it is not from Germany). Filtered is called kristallweizen (sp?). Other styles of wheat beer include weissbier (Eastern German synonym for weizen) and the Belgian whitbiers. I prefer the hefeweizen. Tucher is by far my favorite beer. |

A Hefe' is nice, especially when you can crank 'em out in what? 10 days. (Kegged) at just about any time of year. A dunkleweizen is just a bit more work, but worth it. To the OP: Expand your horizons a bit. Seems like you have a discriminating palette. There are many beers to taste and enjoy in the world. Go find some, you wont regret it! Edited for spelling.....too much Homebrew tonight: A slightly over-hopped Cream Ale. Did not have a scale and had to go volumetric on the hops. Not bad, sorta like a mild IPA without all the body. Cheers! |

Quoted: Quoted: Did you follow the instructions on the label and roll the bottle? I've never imagined there would be a day where I would have to read instructions on the side of a beer bottle... http://www.saltwatercowboy.net/funny/doublefacepalm.jpg It appears you've never had a real beer up until this point. |
