With all this Tier level crap, I wonder......how does butter stack up?

1.  Farmer's market real deal fatty butter.
2.  Plugra
3.  Land O-Lakes
4.  ?????????

I obviously want the best butter, not the tacticool, fanboy, Koolaid drinkers butter.

I'm a little disappointed that MagPul or LaRue hasn't offered something by now.

We used to have an employee whose husband was from Belgium and had been a baker in the old country.

He said the butter over here sucks for baking, compared to theirs (has more water???, I think was the difference).

Land O Lakes is what's available here. We use the salted variety.

Never heard of Plugra.

If available, I'd go with the farmer's market fatty brand. Fat is good.

Wat?

I need to know the options as to what is best and better.  My grocery store is somewhat limited and I don't always have the time to hit the farmers market.

Seems like a legit question

i only get butter made from cows, not that margarine or spread shit made from oil.  i cant notice any difference between brands of butter.  i buy cheap and throw it in the freezer and thaw a stick whenever i need.

eta i only b uy unsalted butter, because if i want more salt i can always add.  if something is too salty, it is a bit difficult to remove salt.

I've always been told to use the unsalted for baking and the salted for eat'in.  The Land O-lakes is easily available and I have actually committed heresy by getting some Sweet-fake butter for muffins!  On a english muffin or toast though, real butter is king.

Purchase real milk from dairy (ok, milk your own damn cow would be better, but this is the best I can do given time constraints).  Skim cream and make your own butter.
––-
That said, we tend to simply shake the jug and drink the fatty goodness.  It is fairly rare that we actually skim.  More often my wife just picks up an extra quart of cream when she is there.  It makes -0- sense that some customers don't want the cream when it sells for almost 4x what the milk does (and they don't get a discount for taking the white colored water)

I've never seen it in a store before, but since you say it's good; I'll try it if I ever see it.  I still think the name is disgusting, and more suited to government cheese than butter.
