does somebody actually kill a mockingbird?
I never read it. |
|
Yes, they killed the Mocking bird but it get it's revenge. Whenever they fall asleep it comes back and kills them in their dreams. Scout and Atticus end up staying up all night, then Scout accidentally falls asleep but finds a way to draw the Mocking bird out of her dream and Boo Radley kills it. |

Do they find his bloody teeth in a torn scrap of clothing in the morning? |

You want to read the book, many parts of book were left of the movie. My son read the book in the 8th grade. It's about a black man accused of raping a white girl. The book is seen through the eyes of the 14 year old girl Scout.
Somewhat related: For my part as a guy that has no interest in having kids, the only time I ever like the idea of being a father is when I watch the movie version with Gregory Peck. |

Boo Radley raped and killed a mockingbird and then gave a dog rabies and Heck Tate wasn't man enough to put it down so Addicus had to do it and that is why Colonel Savage went catatonic and Gately had to lead the mission over Berlin. Clear? HEY! How about a spoiler alert?

Clear? I think you've somehow managed to conflate the plots of "To Kill A Mockingbird" and "Run Silent, Run Deep". Jane |

Clear? Crap! Don't tell me they are doing a remake of this great classic. It's an abomination I tell you. To Kill a Mockingbird was something they just don't do these days; take a good book, trim it a bit, and make a good movie with nothing more than a good story and good acting. In this case the only sex was alleged and never actually happened. Video from another world for sure. |

Gregory Peck gets some awesome time behind a bolt action... http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/2930/atticuskrag.jpg Not just a 'bolt action' but a Krag-Jorgensen Dammit, I see the file name has krag in it...so you knew that already.... |

The original story was simply about a man who was annoyed by a mockingbird that perched in his tree outside the bedroom at night. Mockingbirds like to "sing" at night and will carry on for hours. Eventually the bird heard his snoring and began to mock his snoring. At that point he had had enough but was unable to see the bird to kill it with his rifle. He was at war with the bird for months and ended up in an asylum. All he did was sing like the mockingbird despite numerous ECT treatment, insulin coma therapies, and other harsh treatments. The final scene is that the mockingbird finds him at the hospital and sits outside the window.
Here is a real mockingbird: (they love to sing at night too) http://birdcinema.com/view_video.php?viewkey=2ef67f98f3558c282a9c |

Twelve O'Clock High was a series also, never missed an episode. |

And yes, the little bastiges do like to sing at night, all day, any time the planet is rotating....but I like to hear 'em most of the time.... |

Did you really think I believed there was submarine movie with a mission to Berlin in it? Jane |
It was one of many basically negative stories they made us read in HS... it seems like everything we were forced to read was about something horrible, like murder, racism, genocide, etc.
Why couldn't they have given us happier books to read ? Then again, I liked it when we got to read Animal Farm and 1984. Lord Of The Flies kinda grew on me too. I wish we had read some Heinlein, though. |

Quoted: White guilt crap I was forced to watch in school. Don't be a tard. The book was published in 1960 when there was still shit to do. It's a damn fine book too. 1984, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. The cold war is over, but are they irrelevant? How about the Emperors Handbook by Marcus Aurelius? Or maybe The Old Man And The Sea? You know, religious music isn't popular anymore. Let's just get rid of Ode to Joy. Few posts have annoyed me more than that vulgar assessment. |
