| Have had Dish for 2 years now.At end of 2 year contract, they have not bothered to try to keep me as a subscriber even though outages are becoming more common.Would Direct be better or is it just the crapshoot I think it is? |

Technology is the same - only the names are different.
I have Dish at home for the last 13 years and one of my friends has Direct picture looks the same from either. He prefers the Direct sports packages but I prefer the Dish movie packages. I do think the Dish DVRs are better but that's just my opinion. Take your pick either one is better than cable imo. |

Me: my contract is up.What you gonna do for me?
Dish guy: nothing. Me:What about the discount you are giving new customers? Dish guy: You are not a new customer. Me: So you would rather lose a customer than work with them? Dish guy: So be it. I can't deviate from the business model. Me: Well bye then. Got Direct TV coming out Friday;will save $40/month via promotion for same shit. |

DirectTV did the same to my neighbor, then he went with Dish. They both suck equally. Especially their customer service. Expect a call back from Dish in a week asking why you quit at which point they will tell you of the retention deals. Fucking idiots. The time to do that is when the customer is on the phone, before they switch. |
