right after i finished watching top shot on hulu i got a virus from fucking hell.
it won't let me do shit. it's the AV virus on steroids. i can't open the internet, malwarebytes, fucking NOTHING. what can i do? |

get rkill and run that right before you install, update, and scan with malwarebytes.

Most of these fake AV programs like to hide in your XP profile info. Check "[system drive]:/Documents and settings/[profile name]/local settings/application data" (in safe mode because it likely won't work obviously) to see if there is an EXE of any kind sitting in there. If there is, thats your virus (note: you will need to change your folder setting to see hidden files).
You'll also want to clean out any and all temp files in the temp and internet temp folders in the local settings folder of your profile. Likely you will also have to repeat these steps for other profiles on your system. Be sure to clean out the temp files in [system drive]:/windows/temp. I hope this helps. |
