This census guy goes to my house when only my MIL is there watching the kids. She refuses to answer questions because she does not live there and just gives the guy my work number. He calls when I am busy. I tell him to not call me at work. He goes by the house again and gives my wife the forms and she just does not want to deal with him with the whacky MIL and 3 kids at home plus she just drove 400 miles, is 8 weeks prego and tired. Jerkwad Census guy files a report that we were a refusal and that I physically threatened him. He also reported that he went by my work and that I ran him off from there. Said that I was threatening and a danger to other workers in his refusal report. Funny thing is, his boss, is a friend of mine. A milfy friend of mine who used to have the hots for me. Unfortunately one apparently cannot get fired from a federal job for being a lazy, lying, douche. |

I did tell my friend that if that lying bastard came back I'd club him like a baby seal......a joke since she knows I am AK native. But the reality of it is that this guy was being lazy. The (as I understand it) way it works is the they make a report for refusals. IF that report says that the person is a danger then they are not going to send someone out, so a lazy as fuck census douche who does not want to do his job just needs to say a person is a danger to them and no one will follow up on it. |

Then he called you at work and you wouldn't answer the questions (if you're really that busy at work then generally you don't answer your phone). Then he goes back to your house and your wife won't answer the questions because she doesn't want to deal with it.
I'd say the guy made an effort. That hardly sounds lazy. It sounds like your family are the lazy ones for not being able to mail in a form on time or take two minutes to answer questions that are required by law.

and it has been the CONSTITUTIONAL LAW (so many of us here whine about being ignored by this REGIME and our current CONGRESS yet want to bitch about the Census,,)for the last 200+ years.. answer the simple legal questions and be done with it..

Although you should have helped him out after 3 visits it does seem that he is seeking an easy way out and is acting like a idiot for filing the report. That said you did refuse 3 times and never offered to set up a more convenient time to meet or call to fill out the required questions. So he was too probably frustrated.... That said you still may not be done... our area even if one is stated a "danger" we reassign to case to another enumerator... in my area... unfortunately I get stuck going to the "Dangerous" people...

I see that, too, but I honestly don't get it. The wife accidentally threw out our (completed) form. Couple weeks later a guy comes by the house. We start talking to him. He actually thanked us for throwing the form out. Turns out he was a mid-to-upper-level executive that got down-sized from a Fortune 500 company. (He told us the name.) After he was let go, he tried to find actual WORK for months. Ask yourself this: Who wants to hire a professional man, in his 50's, accomplished, at the height of his career, when that field is saturated with applicants? What's he supposed to do? Go flip burgers for minimum wage? Check receipts at Wal-Mart, and deal with all the blading and adrenaline dumps that go along with that? He said that the Census job was the first paying gig he had had (that he felt was actually worth his time) in something like 10 or 12 months. So, seriously... I just don't get all the chest-beating and shit. If you don't send your form back in, all that will happen is that WE will take some of your Representatives and Electoral College votes away from you. And THAT'S not such a big deal, is it? |

| We keep getting notices on our door from census douches for people that used to live in our apartment. So far we have five notices for different people. I'm waiting to catch the guy so I can tell him to get bent. Maybe he'll add them to the refusal list. Also, wife sent ours in before I could look at it, so they shouldn't be after me. |

His enumerator is a personal friend and she told me about how he had reported even going to my work and that I had run him of there. NO ONE has introduced themselves to me as a census guy. The enumerator is gonna pay me a visit later on. She is really curious as to how many of his refusal reports are valid at this point. Apparently I am not the only one. |

I had a census lady showing up at my house at all times of the day and night trying to catch me home, even though I sent my stupid census papers in when I got them in the mail.
She could never catch me at home because, well, I am never at home. I generally don't get home until 10 pm and I leave around 7:15 am. She kept leaving notes on my door saying to call her, but on the three notes she left, she only put her name and NO PHONE NUMBER to call". Finally I left her a note on my door telling her I sent the papers in, and explaining everything to her about why she cannot catch me at home. A couple days later I got call from the census people saying I am avoiding them, and if I do not respond to the matter, it will cause more problems for me. This in turn royally pissed me off when I was trying to help this stupid lady out, so I called them back and began to flip out on the dude that left me the message, when he interrupted me and said" we found your papers, I apologize" and HUNG UP ON ME. Pricks I wanted to file a complaint, but I don't know how to go about it or know if it is even worth the trouble. It was just crazy how they turned crap around on me for working long hours and then being out enjoying myself on the weekends. I understand why this census stuff is important, but I don't get why I felt I was feeling threatened by them, when I sent my papers back like 2 days after I got them on my door. They (or the postal service) misplaced my papers, no big deal, that sort of stuff can happen. But I did what I could to help them out, I would have answered her questions again if she would have caught me at home. On the note I left her, I added my cell phone number to it, but she must have passed that off to a higher up since that is who called me apparently. I was never rude to them or snything, so why the hell were they so rude to me?! Rant over

You should cut the census people a brake. Let's be honest almost all of them have the job because they couldn't find another job in this shit economy we have, and are just happy to have a paycheck.

IF you are getting hassle from census enumerators the sheet of paper left on your door SHOULD have 2 phone #'s one is the local census office (LCO) if it doesn't just 411 the local office which should be located in your counties seat of government Call that number, ask for field operations and make your complaint.
But only do this if the census worker is being a real jerk and not just because you are all wrapped around the axle about the way the census is worded or you hate Obama, or wear tin foil hats. I work in a census office and yeah we hired some jerks and wackos, we fired nearly 10 % of those we hired for cause in the last 2 weeks. But most of them are just trying to do their job as best they can. The census is a constitutional requirement and you'd think that people who are so for strict constitutional interpretation (IE 2A) would get this. |
