A ball of glass will bounce higher than a ball of rubber. A ball of solid steel will bounce higher than one made entirely of glass.

You ain't kidding. I dropped about 30 ball bearings on a concrete floor once, and they shot all over the damn place. That was a year ago, and I'm still finding them under stuff and in corners when I move things.
