The GF and I have been looking for a family sedan. We looked at a used Saturn Aura XE, Hyundai Sonata, and Ford Fusion.

Does anyone here have one? How do you like it?

Sorry, no Camry or Accord for us - I know they're great cars, but we're trying to find a car with less than 30K for around 15K. Must be a V6 too. No way a Toyota or Honda would fall in that category.

Thanks

We have a 2008 for the wife. She LOVES it!!!

The Synch is a nice feature.

Also the 4 cyl we test drove got great mileage but was very underpowered. The 6 cyl has plenty of power and was actually MUCH quieter then the 4cyl. She also gets mid to high 20's in terms of mileage.

Did you guys know that Ford is going to make a car for women?

It's going to be a cross between a Geo and a Taurus and it's going to be called a "Geotaurus"

No, it already exists. It's called the Mustang.

Ford Freestyle... I think it's a car, but it could be some kind of maxi pad.

My buddy is an engineer at Ford.  He said if Ford/Lincoln/Mercury told him he could pick any card in the lineup and drive away with it, he'd pick the Fusion.  The warranty numbers and such are all so good on it, he'd feel confident it would run great for a long time to come.

This. I hardly EVER see them on anything but the lube rack at the dealer. Oil changes and flat tires is about all.

Isn't the fusion a rebadged Mondeo like the have in Europe?
No wonder they have the bugs worked out since it's been out overseas for years.

I've got an 06 Merc Milan ( same car as Fusion ) it's been great.  65K and no probs.  I fully expect to do 200K plus before moving on to another car.

Not sure you can find a low-mileage V6 Fusion for less than $15K...

By all accounts, they're excellent cars. The long-term reliability is still an unknown.

Personally, I won't buy anything until it's been in production for at least 4-5 years (particularly if it's a domestic model) - which is why I'd be looking at the Sonata first.

We got a '10 Fusion Sport AWD in November. Loaded, with nav.

Fantastic car, we've got over 5K on it now. Mileage is not the best, we're averaging 19 city/highway, but Northeastern PA isn't flat. Lots of power, rides great.

My sister in law has an '09 Fusion.  I drove it once, and it is a nice car.  Like most front wheel drive cars, you "feel" more of the road when you drive.  If I were in the market for a mid sized family car, I would look at this car.

The Contour was a rebadged Mondeo. The Fusion is a variation of the Mazda (Mazda 6) GG platform.

I love my 2010 Fusion, its awesome, I've got an V6(3.0) SEL , its loaded, I average about 24-26 MPG and thats with pretty spirited driving. I can't comment on the pre '10 models but i LOVE mine, its got sync and navigation, the acceleration is smooth and quick enough that you don't feel undergunned if you need to get up to speed quick the seats are comfy and its nice even on long drives. I got it January 2nd this year. Its quiet on the road, and the stereo is nice. Ambient lighting is cool and pretty useful at night when your passenget needs to find something on the floor. the back seats are large enough for an adult to be comfortable, and the trunk is decently sized.
