Some 300lb chick was worried people would think she's lazy for something.
Umm, bitch...you're 300lbs, it's automatically noted that you're lazy.

| I grew up in a house like that. My mom was (is) a hoarder. Crap stacked on every single flat surface and up and down all halls. Never had a friend over or let them in because I would never be able to show my face at school. Slimfast cans empty from 10 years back. A really hard way to grow up. She also has the ocd condition checking. |

She says that Prozac has sexual side affects (ewwwwwwww, moms talking about sexual side affects) just an excuse to not deal with it but knows it is wrong. Cannot say why she keeps the stuff. No idea how bad it is now 3 Yeats since I was out there. What a terrible way to live and grow up I assure you. |

I don't watch much TV, but I found it on one night and couldnt stop watching it. My dad was a little like that, and I had to clean it all up when he died. 18 months of wheeling, dealing and trips to the scrap yard. |

I cleaned it out in 2008-2009. I found a lot of treasures, like cards from my deceased great graparents for my first birthday and letters from my uncle when he was in vietman. We ended up getting a semi trailer dumpster for a week and filled the damn thing up. I also took in probably around 50 pickup and trailor loads of scrap metal. I'm just thankful I started that when it was priced higher. Best of luck to you when your time comes. Even a neat person collects a lot in a lifetime. |

Gives one a sense of everything has a value and I try every day to just toss out anything not currently needed. I don't have her condition but it did rub off. Thanks for the words. It was what it was and i have more memories of loading bullets as a kid than the house condition. |

[/ Oh, don't I know how true that is. To date AT&T has given me 900 in credits because I call every other day and complain about no service in the middle of town. No phone bill for months now but would rather complete a call. |

Umm, bitch...you're 300lbs, it's automatically noted that you're lazyCRAZY. ![]() Some big fat assed people are lazy. Mea Culpa. A lot of us have stuff fucked up in the head that goes WAAAAY beyond lazy. I have family members that are mentally tougher and have a higher tolerance for pain than me, but they also have other shit going on that keeps them from being able to make the right choices. Chemical Depression plays a role in a lot of this. It's tough to see the line between what is a neurotransmitter out of place and what's a character flaw. We tend to lump it all into the latter category and sit back and gloat on being so much better than them. One of the main reasons it doesn't get treated. It's funny though. Most of us wouldn't gloat over someone with a physical disability, but we (me included) love to make fun of the crazy. |

I'm 58 and have run a service business for 28 years. I've been in a few of those houses. Only once have I ever been in a "hoarders" house that was neat and clean so you could eat off the floor. But she had tons of boxes and stuff stacked to the ceiling in aisles throughout the house like in a maze. I got to know this nice couple, and her husband described a legitimate neurosis in which she couldn't stop buying stuff.
BUT.....I think the other people were just FUCKING PIGS! I think they just let garbage accumulate and control their life. Filth everywhere. I understand hoarding stuff...... like tons of pistols or rifles like we have ....BUT DO WE THROW ALL OUR GUNS ALL OVER THE HOUSE IN SHIT PILES? (Of course not......we only do that with the crates of ammo and primers)
|
| I installed satellite for nearly 8 years. As a result I had to venture into peoples homes all day. Hoarding is more common than you would think. I could not tell you how many houses I walked into that were so bad I turned around and walked right back out refusing to do the install. I did not get paid to dig through a pile of crap 7' high and 5' deep just to find an electrical outlet to plug the receiver into. There was one lady's house I went into that was so bad you could not see a single wall in the entire home. Floor to ceiling wall to wall full of junk. Empty boxes, news papers, cheap dollar store junk still in the packaging it was all just crap. There were narrow little corridors carved in her crap through parts of the house and other parts that were completely inaccessible. She had a little cave in what I think was the dining room with a mattress and TV on the floor. I discreetly took a few pictures with my phone before leaving but sadly never uploaded them and lost them when my phone got smashed. |

I grew up in a house like that. My mom was (is) a hoarder. Crap stacked on every single flat surface and up and down all halls. She also has the ocd condition checking. My dad is one, too. However, he (thank God) didn't really start until I left the house and I think my leaving is what started it. He had never been alone and I honestly think he needed to fill the place up. It is a really hard thing for the kids to deal with. |

My stepgrandparents were both hoarders. When they died we had to clean out 3 houses worth of crap. We took out anything that was personal and put the rest out in a yard sale. I mean everything. And people bought it. All of it. Like boxes of 30 year old magazines and cans of Coke with Earnhardt on them and millions of old coat hangers. Were they valuable? Who the fuck knows? And who the fuck cares because do you really want a 20 year old can of Coke with a Nascar driver on it? Anyway, we made like $12k that day and split it up between me and my brothers.
There was a whole bunch of stuff my stepgrandfather bought and never used, like a drill press and a lathe. I kept that stuff. |

| Well, obviously she knows it is wrong and embarrassing because she will walk all the way down the street to meet her ride just to make sure no one asks to use the restroom. It seems that in her condition she knows help would mean throwing out that stuff she holds dear and she can't imagine life without it. I was told that to just show up and toss shit out would be cruel and I believe that. We had stuff and junk, but not food wrappers or real trash. She did mop the little trails through the kitchen. Carpet was worn down to the plywood from just having a narrow path through the halls. Never took a pic, it's my mom and I do love her and see her as mentally ill. |
