Someone asked if I might have any use for an old scope and this is what it is.I was hoping it might be something old or possibly from a milsurp but it doesn't seem to be that bad of glass.
Innerweb searching didn't turn up much other than a couple guys that liked 'em on FALs and M-1A's so can anybody tell me anything about it?

You zero the rifle at 200 yards.
The two stadia lines at the bottom represent 18" at any distance. Dial your magnification until 18" of your target fits into the two stadia lines. You will notice that the center horizontal crosshair splits and begins to separate. If you are still shooting at 200 yards (at any magnification between 3x and 9x) - use the top crosshair. If you are shooting at an unknown distance and you have dialed in your stadia lines, you will use the bottom crosshair as it is compensating for hold-over at your dialed in range. It is also calibrated for .308 168 grain bullets at 2600 fps and compensates for bullet-drop from 200 - 550 yards. I hope that didn't confuse you even more.

I was a little confusing,I figured it wasn't "old" but rather 80's vintage when I got it but when originally asked if I'd like an "old scope" had visions of something their grandpops might have had. For the price of free I'll certainly take a decent modern scope and hopefully this weekend can try it out on my HK91 or FAL. |
