Will Farrell is usually very funny as an ancillary character, or part of a good ensemble cast. But his own movies usually suck, with some noteworthy exceptions.

i think that's whats wrong now days you don't have writers sitting down and cutting up with the actor/comedians, anymore now they are handed a script and they do it and go home with shit loads of money.

and I think hes always the same character in every movie which sucks for him.
