I have been searching for a while for chicken bbq pit plans on line and it seams all i can friggen find is bullshit smoker plans. i dont want a smoker, just a plans to build a rectangle steel chicken pit. any of you guys point me in the right direction? building this for my FIL for fathers day next month. my search fu fucking blows in every part of the spectrum. |

I think I know what you are talking about (the local fire dept used to use them for their annual grill out every year when I was a kid).
They used galvanized steel and just screwed it to angle iron in the dimensions they wanted. I would not recommend using galvanized steel tho it tends to put off nasty gasses wiki link. If you want something like that then use corrugated sheet metal and angle iron and either screw it together (if it will not be used more than once or twice) or get someone to weld it together for you (or weld it yourself if you have the equipment). |

If you want something like that then use corrugated sheet metal and angle iron and either screw it together (if it will not be used more than once or twice) or get someone to weld it together for you (or weld it yourself if you have the equipment). yes, that is exactly what i want. i already have the base idea of how i want to build it i was just hoping to find some plans to compare to and some ideas of items and mods that would make it better i might just go ahead and build a tank or barrel bbq so it would be more universal. it will be built out of steel and stainless and welded. i wouldnt dare use galvanized metal in anything near food nor weld it. i used to be a "fabricator" so i have all the equipment to build it easy, just looking for some out of the box designs or examples the search continues. thanks guys |
