What do you guys do to stay motivated in life? I've fallen into what feels like a slump over
the last 4 months and can't seem to shake it. I've had this feeling before but have always been able to shake it. I have a great job, a beautiful wife at home who loves me, and I just can't
seem to motivate my self. It's starting to effect my work life.  What does AR15 do to keep
themselves going?

I look at online motivational posters.

ETA: For me, ambition motivates me. Along with the prospect of earning lots of money and buying prancing pony products.

ETA2: I forgot to mention the most important thing, church. I used to feel like you. I started going to a good church and it changed me. Unfortunately, the daily grind of taking classes that were more difficult than I should have taken has made me fall out of that, and it's making me a bit depressed again. Once summer vacation starts, I will be going to church again regularly hopefully. Obviously, ignore this advice unless you are 1) a christian or 2) open to the idea that there is a god.

My wife's pregnant with our first... I'd say that keeps me pretty motivated.

Prior to that it was still the thought that I needed to be able to provide for a family...

Get bloodwork and get your testosterone checked- seriously.  Lack of motivation is often the first sign.  Lots of docs used to just write you for antidepressants but T is often the cause.  Depression is a result and then further fuels the downward spiral.

This is a big deal and very common.  It can have lots of long term health consequences and they are finding more every day.  There was a thread on this a while back.

Hate to say this but when I used to read threads like this I would think "damn, people get a grip". Now I'm kinda going through the same thing for about the last month or so and I'm not so quick to judge. Let me know what's works for you so I can try it.

Think about all the people who have it better, such as you. Keeps me motivated for continuous improvement.

Decide how you want to live life.  Make some goals; write them down.  Consider how every action you take helps you achieve these goals.  Change your behavior as you find out what works.  Never give up!

I always used to think the same thing.  I hate docters, but I'm real close to going. I'll probly
give it a week and then I'm going in. Maybe I'll go unload some ammo this week end. That
might help.

When I get like that I've found that doing something different usually helps.  I've recently joined the local volunteer fire department and it's definitely made a difference in how I feel.

That sounds like a good Idea. I think I will make a goal list up tonight. I think I will make up a decent list with several short term, and several long term goals. It sounds so simple, but I think it might help.

Get to the gym, and lift heavy. I don't know why, but taking a break from my usual de-fatassifacation routine and doing a little power lifting always perks me up.

Paying my rent and not staving death motivates me pretty good.

At one time I wanted to do something with meaningful and important with my life.  Then I realized that was virtually impossible.  The first 20 years of life sucked pretty bad in general as well.  To be honest, I'm happy enough that it now qualifies as "not sucky" anymore and I've learned to not complain.

I go for drive in the neighborhoods where the $500,000+ houses are. Gets me motivated to work harder.

My kids are a big part of it. And just always working towards things I enjoy. I feel like I just have to make it through winter so I can enjoy my summers. Camping, shooting, biking, etc. But I really don't get into slumps very often. Just stay busy.
