[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Subwoofer help

We are running a digital 5.1 surrond sound system and lately our sub has ceased to make any sound at all, the cone will shake but no sound.

It is a JBL PSW-1200 and the receiver is a Pioneer VSX-815.

Any help resolving the situation would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Check the crossover and volume.

Sounds like its time to look at a new sub. Lots of options out there, might want to start at www.avsforums.com

Yep, Sounds like your crossover has malfunctioned(or someone has been messing with the settings) and is only producing soundwaves below what the human can hear.

It only does it in 5.1. any other setting and it thunders. I have the sub channel on the 5.1 as high as it will go.
