it has its flaws, but if you want to see/hear a 100% accurate portrayal of the type of bullshit Marines talk about and the culture of the Corps, it's pretty amusing. This... We had a conversation at work about Generation Kill a few months ago. We can to the conclusion that through the eyes of a reporter, that doesn't know our squadron's dynamics, we'd seem pretty fucked up. From the shit we talk about to the stuff we say about each other. Remember that while watching it and it will be better. There's no fucking way Force Recon officers are as bad as they were portrayed in GK. |

Colonel Ferrando (Godfather) was my the commander during my time with Security Battalion Camp Pendleton. He seemed to be a pretty good Officer, especially to us Infantry guys who were there prior to our EAS. I have his signature on a chit requesting approval to store my USP in the Battalion armory. Quoted: Quoted: Trust me, Recon battalion officers CAN be that bad. Trombley was a team leader in my platoon on my first deployment and Gunny Swarr led my Pre-BRC. Awesome series though I knew Swarr when he was a snot nosed Lance Coconut. |
